Chapter 03 · Ribodex
Programming the ribosome.
Ribosomes are the body's protein factories. In 2023 Dr. Mikaelian founded Ribodex to develop a ribosomal programming platform: a way to give a ribosome a customized production plan, so that the cell makes more of the proteins tissue needs.

RiboHair™
Fig. 1 · Translation, one codon at a time
Native, then programmed.
The small subunit reads the mRNA. Transfer RNAs deliver amino acids to the A site, the large subunit links them, and the growing chain leaves through the exit tunnel. A programmed ribosome follows the same steps with a custom production plan.
Small subunit
Reads the mRNA instructions, three letters at a time.
Large subunit
Links each new amino acid to the growing chain.
Exit tunnel
Where the new protein emerges and begins to fold.
Programmed ribosome
A ribosome with a customized production plan.
First application · RiboHair™
From the platform to the scalp.
RiboHair brings programmed ribosomal technology to a needle-free, in-office cosmetic hair application. A topical serum is applied to the scalp and the Juvasonic® sonic device drives its absorption. No needles, no blood draws, no downtime.

RiboHair is a cosmetic product. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. Individual results vary.
The platform
Hair is the first chapter of a longer program.
The patent application describes reprogramming ribosomes so that they produce chosen proteins and support tissue renewal, including proteins the body lacks or makes in altered form. Ribodex is one of four divisions Dr. Mikaelian oversees at BioAlliance Holdings.
